Every price below is the list price we quote. We don’t quote hourly to end clients, and we don’t discount below list. If the budget is tight, we adjust the scope instead.
UTSL’s Moodle prices: a $390 Health Check, standard upgrades at $2,400 (complex from $4,800), Care Plans from $290 to $1,290 per month, white-label development at $1,200 per 40-hour block, a Headless UX Kit from $6,500, and the AI Plugin Suite from free to $790 per year. All prices are in USD.

Why we publish fixed prices
Most Moodle work is quoted by the hour, which means the person paying carries the risk if the job takes longer. We think that is the wrong way round for work we do every week. Publishing prices also helps the people who have to approve the spend: finance and procurement can see the number before the first call.
- You know the cost before work starts. The Health Check turns unknowns into a firm price for your site.
- Scope changes are agreed, not discovered. If something bigger turns up, we agree a revised fixed price before doing the extra work.
- No discounting games. List price is the price. If a budget is tight, we reduce scope rather than cut corners.

Pricing FAQ
How much does Moodle cost to run?
Moodle itself is free, open-source software. The costs are hosting, maintenance, upgrades and any customisation. With UTSL, maintenance runs from $290 per month, a standard upgrade to the current LTS is $2,400, and managed hosting for up to about 2,000 users is included in the $590 Managed Care Plan.
Why fixed price instead of hourly?
So you know the cost before we start, and there is no incentive on our side to take longer. We don’t quote hourly to end clients.
What are your payment terms?
Projects are 50% upfront to book the work and 50% at go-live. Care Plans are billed monthly in advance on the 1st. We don’t discount below list price, but we can adjust scope to fit a budget.
What happens to the Health Check fee if we upgrade?
If you go ahead with an upgrade, the full $390 is credited against the upgrade price.
Do prices include hosting?
Only the Managed and Priority Care Plans include hosting, for up to about 2,000 users. Upgrades and Essential Care work with your existing hosting.
